SP2 Install

Hi,

I am trying to install SP2 update on a friends computer. The computer
seems to be going o.k. SP2 starts to install and then "ASN1 unexpected
end of data" appears and can't go any further.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you download sp2 and burn it to a cd?

It appears to be a bad download.

If performing a net install...just try again

SP2 came from Microsoft. I have 2 copies, both work o.k. when used
before.

Check the memory for errors.
Make sure you do not need an updated System BIOS.
Make sure you have the latest hardware drivers installed already from the
hjardware manufacturers.
Do a spyware/adware scan or four on the system.
Do a CHKDSK.
Do a DEFRAG.

Try again.

If no resolution here, try the more appropriate group here
There are plenty of other SP2 problems, followed by the 60-80 other stuff to
bring you up to date.
Do a search/find in that group.
