SP2 Install problem

Has anyone run across this while installing SP2:

"cannot copy the file branches.inf"

The file is located in C:\Windows\softwareapplication(I
think)\(a really long hex string)\update

I've got six of those branches.inf files on the system and
it can't copy any of them. I'm running the install as
Administrator, which I would have thought gave me
permission to everything.

Any ideas?

Remove the 'Read Only' property from branches.inf and branches.PNF
in Windows directory \WINDOWS\inf .

The file referenced isn't actually in the WINDOWS
directory. Are you saying to remove read-only from the
referrenced file, the WINDOWS/inf file, or both?
