SP2 failure to install

I have tried twice to install SP2 and both times. after a
very long download, I get a cannot install because it
can't read files from database. Does anyone know what's
happening here?

Cryptographic service and related errors

Some of the possible error messages are:

a.. Cryptographic service error
b.. Error 0x800710D9 Unable to read from or write to the database
