SP2 download warning boxl

Rohan Rasaiah

After downloading XP SP2, I seem to get a warning box anytime I try to
download a file. Before SP2, I never got that warning. I know it is part of
the improved security package, but is there a way to disable this message
from popping up.

Thanks a lot,

I should hope not. There are web pages that have 1 pixel spots that
just
running over the spot will download some scam to your PC.

Here's a question to ask yourself:
"Do I REALLY want the increased security measures of Service Pack 2?"

The warning dialogue which you receive before attempting to download
certain files is part of the increased security measures of Service
Pack 2. If you're going to start turning off all the security
measures, you might as well just uninstall Service Pack 2. While
you're at it, you might as well just remove Windows XP and go back to
Windows 95.

Personally, I don't mind clicking on a warning dialog to be certain I
really want to do something as dangerous as download an unknown file
from this virus-laden internet we have nowadays.
