SP2 - Automatic updates

Hi there

I understood that automatic updates of sp2 for xp home
would start on 18/8. As of last night, there was no signs
of any activity. Automatic Updates are set to download and
inform me when ready to install.

Any suggestions please why there is a delay and if I
should do anything?

Microsoft is limiting the daily number of SP-2 downloads. You may get SP-2 soon
or you can wait days. For more information, see FAQ #7:

reset your auto update every hour.start,,,right click
mycomputer,,,properties,,,auto update tab,,,change the
time(10:45 A.M. eastern for me,I'ld put it to check at
11:00A.M.,at 11:05 if the update icons not in the
notification area by the clock,I change it to 12:00P.M.
at 12:05 if it's not loading set to 1:00 P.M.)you get the
picture.If you do this you'll have it by the end of the
day.

I didn't get it for several days, but it started

downloading this a.m. After downloading I had an windows
icon and a msg if I wanted to install now. I didn't
install it right away since I hadn't backed up a lot of
info for awhile. Then I had to go away for several hours
and put it to sleep. Later the icon was gone and now
apparently I've lost it. Anyone know how to retrieve it
or do I have to go thru the automatic update again?
