Installed SP2, can't find the Iexplorer.exe. Can't
reinstall IE6 until previous version is uninstalled and the
system still sees previous version as there but I can't
uninstall.
A conundrum.

Any hints.

My shortcut on my desktop didn't work after I installed SP2 but other links
to IE worked fine. Try running it directly from the c:\program files
\internet explorer\iexplore.exe and see if that works.

Note that it's iexplore.exe not iexplorer.exe

Same problem here. I downloaded SP2 on August 26 and have
been w/o IE ever since. After 4 days of logging in using
MSN, and checking hundreds of bulletin boards, loading
spyware software, etc., I am still not able to use IE. I
am using Mozilla and Netscape for now, but Microsoft
products don't like these very much.

Microsoft: I have seen at least 200 posts with this
problem, and have tried everything that I thought was
reasonable. HELP.

Go to folder options..view tab..show hidden files and folders. Then go
to program files..internet explorer and see if you can see
iexplore.exe. Make a shortcut to your desktop if it's there.

One more thing to try. Go to c: windows folder..show hidden files and
folders and find the inf folder. See if you have an ie.inf file. Right
click it and choose install. You may have to point it to a couple of
files and see if it helps.
