SP2 and Firewall settings for Bit Torrent

Does anyone know if it's necessary to open ports 6881-6889
to get a BT client to work properly with SP2?

At the moment I have simply added the BT Client (Bit Comet)
into the programs allowed through the firewall, will I also
have top open up all those ports?

BitTorrent still worked for me after upgrading to SP2. I opened the ports
in my Linksys router and that setting carried over in the router. SP2 did
not seem to require opening ports in the firewall. I suggest you restart a
completed download and see.

if you have windows security on, then when bittorent is opened for the first
time, windows sp2 will ask if you want it to unblock or keepblocking
bittorent from making connections. Just click unblock and your fine. I
never had to forward ports for my linksys router. Thats one of the cool
things about SP2 is that it forwards ports for you. So i would suggest
turning on the security center for SP2 if you havent done so already and make
sure the firewall is on and then uninstall and reinstall bittorent and the
first time you run it you should get that message about blocking/unblocking
it.
