Hi,

Does WinXP SP2 install automatically with Windows
Automatic Update?

When installing SP2 or any other updates/security patches,
should I disable the antivirus?

Thanks

Yes SP-2 will install automatically with Automatic Update if you have
it set that way.
Right click My Computer
Click Properties
Click Automatic Update tab.
Make selections as desired.

If you are using Automatic Update you should leave the protections
enabled since you do not always know exactly when something will be
downloaded/installed.

However if you do it manually, I suggest disabling AV and other
unnecessary applications.

Are you sure AU installs SP2 automatically? AU has always
been enabled on one of our workstations. It's set to
download and install updates automatically. But, still
when I look at the System Properties it says SP1.

So, what I gather is that, AU automatically downloads SP2
but doesn't automatically install it. Because, you have
to first accept the EULA. Right?

If you don't accept the EULA, then will it keep appearing
every day, until you accept it?

Thanks
