SP2 a complete nightmare and very scary.

I have a very long list of problems that this NG's contributors have
experienced with SP2 and most if not all are not advised to personal end
users by Microsoft. Every day I find new reasons as a result of the
experience of NG posts not to attempt to install SP2.

Why on earth hasn't Microsoft the Zillionaires money machine considered
issuing sensible and easy to understand instructions for the millions of
non-techie home users of their world dominating operating system?

Why do we poor fools have to do it the hard way and probably spend huge
ammounts of cash on hiring phony techies to sort out the problems that
Microsoft has lumbered us with?

It's scary, very scary and Microsoft just don't care.

SP2 is not compatible with some programs/functions, but the average home
user is unlikely to be using them anyway.. what the home user can't always
seem to do is follow basic instructions, hence many of the problems.. SP2
will not fix any immediate problems that a computer has.. what it will do is
update a computer with code that hopefully will better protect it.. as long
as a computer is not spitting up error codes, that all peripheral devices
are removed, that a/v is disabled, SP2 should install without a problem..
one then has to connect all devices back up, initialize a/v, and hey
presto.. anything that doesn't work can be reinstalled, patched, updated,
whatever..

You could always do a search in Google for info regarding incompatibility..
I am sure that it is not beyond you to type something meaningful into a
search box, so will not insult you with anything that I might type in..
