Where can I find service pack 1? Not 1a. I've been trying to
hold off on having to upgrade my OS because it is working so
well, but in order to enable usb 2.0 I have to upgrade.
Yech.

I don't want 1a because I don't want to lose my IE.

Thank you.

You don't lose IE by installing 1a :-)

Why on *earth* should installing SP1a cause you to lose Internet Explorer?!
SP1 and SP1a are identical except that 1a lacks the Java Virtual Machine
which can be downloaded from 1000s of sites.

George,

Windows XP SP1a is the same as SP1 except that we are no longer allowed to
offer the Microsoft Java VM as part of the SP.
If you are not running SP1 or SP1 please install it as soon as you can - you
are running with a large number of vulnerabilities and potential issues with
your system compared to one patched to the latest SP and all critical
updates.
Visit Windows Update to get your self up to date with all SP1a and critical
updates that you may be missing

Greetings --

SP1 is no longer available. Where did you get the bizarre idea
that you'd lose IE if you installed SP1a?
