Can anyone remember how long after the launch of XP did SP1 come out?
Just so I can pencil a similar gap into my diary from the launch of Vista...
(yes, yes, yes, I know it doesnt work like that, but just appease me for
now, ok?!)

Thankx, Paul

I am pretty sure SP1 is supposed to come out the same time as Longhorn,
probably the first part of next year. Once Longhorn RTM's, they plan to
release SP1 so they are at binary parity.

I think XP SP1 was released in 9/2002 which would be about 11 months after
the XP RTM release date of 10/2001.

There are a lot of reports that Vista SP1 will be released to coincide with
the Longhorn Server RTM release date, which is set for sometime in Q4 of
this year.

Longhorn Server should reach Beta 3 by the end of April. Then RC1 and maybe
RC2. RTM in Oct.
A lot of people have said they are waiting for Vista SP1 before they upgrade
to Vista. It would be in MSFT's best interest to have Vista SP1 done in time
for the 2007 Christmas Season.
