I am ready to go to Win2003 but my organization dissaproves because "the
first Service Pack for it is not out yet". Of course I think this is B%*!S,
and just a pretext not to introduce 2003 yet - real reason being nobody
besides myself knows it (same old polical game). To shut their mouths, HAS
ANYONE HEARD OF AN EXPECTED DATE FOR THE FIRST SERVICE PACK FOR WINDOWS
SERVER 2003?
SP1 for Windows Server 2003 is currently in Beta test and will be released
when "it is ready". This is not a twee answer but really a statement that
we will not release a Service Pack until we and those involved in he testing
and development of it are satisfied that it has reached an appropriate level
of quality. It will be sometime in the first half of this year

As regards the stability and number of hotfixes so far for Windows Server
2003. It is more stable and had fewer hotfixes then any of our other
operating systems in the same time frame since their releases. Windows
Server 2003 was the first of our products to be designed to our SD3+C
initiative - Secure by Design, Default, Deployment and Communications
There are many article on our Web Site about this initiative and how it
relates to our products.
Finally we already have a large number of major clients who have already
deployed on Windows Server 2003. In fact I ran the UK Rapid Adoption
Program (there was a similar on in the US and other locations) where we had
major clients deploy in live environments pre release and final code on
release day. This is a testament to the stability and performance as well
as the new features in Windows Server 2003. Case studies etc are on the
Microsoft web site.
