After installing SP 4 I have all of the files (51 files)
on my desktop. I delete them, but the next time I boot up
a copy of all these files (now up to the 24th copy) all
are back on my desktop. I deleted the Sp 4 and all of its
copies from the hard drive. Then my system would not
completely boot up, it just kept going back to start up
over and over again. I tried using my Emergengy Repair
Disk and get error that "NTLDR is missing". Finally I
reinstalled Windows 2000. All of the SP 4 files are still
on my desktop and every time I change programs
the "Prepairing to Install" Pop up pops up.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to completely remove
this basterdly SP 4 from my computer so that I can just
start over?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

Try booting to Safe Mode by hitting F8 before you see the Windows splash
screen. In safe mode you should be able to delete those files. If they
are the Service Pack 4 files then they should be gone and stay gone when
you boot into windows normally.
