SP 4 just killed my system!

I run an 2.0 GHz Athlon with 1 gig of ram and Windows 2k
Pro. This morning I went to install service pack 4
(hoping it would help things run more smoothly) and got
just the opposite. Now the computer gets about halfway
through booting and BSODs with the error message
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, and the guilty party listed
as ntfs.sys.

Now, is there any way, short of reinstalling Windows to
get back to my nice (mostly)stable service pack 3?

Drew:

See my post in the w2k setup/upgrades section. I've had
your same problem and wound up having to reinstall w2k. I
hope you have better luck than I did. I wouldn't touch SP4
again with a 10-ft pole until enough real techies have had
a chance to debug it.

Hoo! I got lucky, I guess. I tried a couple of things,
and finally got it to boot in safe mode. (I'm not even
sure what I did that let it get that far). Then I could
uninstall the service pack, and resume using my computer.
It's lucky too, 'cause my resume was on there. Thanks for
the help (and good luck with your machine).
