I am having a problem aquiring the SP 1. Everytime I try
to download it it keeps coming back with an error that
says I need a Product Key. I'll admit it I am not the
most computer literate person around, which is probably
why I had my machine build for me by an ex-friend. Could
he have used his own systems Product code for mine and
what do I need to do to fix this problem?

It looks like your friend installed with a key that is known to have been
pirated. Did you ever pay for a valid copy of Windows? Do you have a real
Windows CD from Microsoft or from your PC's manufacturer?

Your ex-friend put a pirated copy of Windows on your machine. Time to go
visit your local software store and get a legit copy of windows.
