I have been approached by several clients to place the
source code for my commercial applications in escrow.
Their concern relates to the "size" of my company and that
they need some assurances that they can be protected if
something should happen to me. They feel more comfortable
if I escrow the source code.
No problem ... will do. Costs will be passed along with
the price of the application.
But, there are a number of companies (Agents) who offer
this service. Does anyone have any experience or
recommendations with any of the firms?
Right now, I am considering a company named DSI Technology
Escrow Services that have an office here in Dallas. I
will probably sign next week unless someone posts
a "horror" story in a reply post.
But I would very much like to hear from anyone else about
their experiences or recommendations ... and any advice.
Location is not as "critical" as a good trustworthy
company that comes recommended by someone who has had a
good experience with them.
Horror stories are also wanted ... helps to find those to
ignore.
