sounds of water dripping

Lately, when I open a website, I get the sound of a drop
of water hitting more water - happens once or more times
then typically stops. I need some help to get rid of this.
 
I had this problem and it was the program "pest patrol" i
had installed making that sound every time a cookie was
downloaded. I disabled it.
