How can I edit the list of sounds available to add to a custom animation?
I'm using PPT 2000 and Windows XP. I want to add and delete files, and be able to rename them from their original "jxxx.wav" filename to recognizable words

i already know how to add clips to the clip gallery, and to rename them there

Also, I want to be able to play a certain (.wav) sound over several slides.
When I chose the number of slides from the menu, PPT seemed to ignore it.
The sound played only for the one slide

Thanks for any help

You can search the "jxxx.wav" file within your computer and rename it.

For sound across slides, look here:

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
more features for managing content and settings in PowerPoint or a
presentation, such as lists of animation sounds (without having to resort
to workarounds VBA or 3rd party add-ins), don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please)to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
