sounds echoing

After playing Final Fantasy 8 My pc now echos all sounds. It happened once before but I forgot the fix. Something about recycling the sounds twice through the sound card..........anyone??

Check the soundcard's effect utilities, if any.
SoundBlaster cards may come with EAX. Open AUDIO HQ, click on EAX and
turn off effects.
