soundrec accessory needs more memory

And the truth is it can't get any more memory. There's 4 gigs of ram available. It plays, but you can't delete ahead of or after with all thisram. Is there a way to fool soundrec into thinking it has enough memory ? Or re-route it into where it does it's edits in memory.

Sound Recorder is an *old* program. It's possible that it does not
understand anything (file size and data processed) past the 2GB mark.
May need to use a different recording program to do ... whatever it is
that you're doing.

That is the problem. That little program is the handiest sound editor I've ever used. I hate to lose it. 2 gigs ram, and it goes dumb.
It's just simple enough also. I've never used anything but it. No need for anything else.

The problem is that it's a limitation of the application and not something
that you can change or adjust.
