soundmax

for my work, I don't need the soundmax plug and play. even for the
occasional use of the two front speakers I don't need any capabilities
beyond what window provide,
Do I still need soundmax at all?

You can disable soundmax in your bios, easy to do. But you will have no
sound at all unless you install a sound card. Better to just go to the
soundmax mixer and mute the sound.
