Hi,

I work on Vista and i have a P5P800 SE from Asus with a Soundmax chipset. I
have found on Windows Update a driver for this soundcard. But after a short
moment of using, the drivers apparently "shutdown", specialy on "skype". If
i go to"services" and i restart the Windows audio, the sound come back. Do
you have this problem or do you have a solution ?

Thanks

I have no problems with my Soundmax. My motherboard is the P4P8X from Asus
with the built in Soundmax on the mother board.
I am running Vista RC2.
I don't use skype.

I have the same issue with having to "restart" the sound service after
attempting to resume a paused sound-producing program, be it WMP, Media
Center, iTunes, or whatnot. I've seen this using a SoundMAX chipset on RC1
through RC2.

I was wondering if the RTM drivers/sound stack has resolved this. Does
anybody know?

What Sound-Max chip are you using?

I've been using the AD1988 SoundMax chipset since the Vista beta began and
except for Beta2 i've had no issues with it. Currently using 60.30 drivers
on it.

I have AD's 1981B chipset on my machine.
