Anyone know of a cheap soundcard that will work with Vista beta2? And
without tricks? Vista beta 2 will recognize it and install it. I give up on
M-Audio Audiophile 192 and Audigy2 ZS. Thanks.

Don't you have inbuilt sound on the Mobo, that usually works fine out
of the box. Do not install drivers for it just use the default drivers
that come with Vista.

Travis, thanks for the link and the reply. Tried using the kx drivers but it
did no good. Will try the MOBO route.

Jonah, I took both cards out of my machine but the onboard soundcard is not
recognized on restart. It did recognize a high definition audio device. I
will keep trying, though. Thanks for the information.

I kept trying and was able to get the onboard Realtek ALC 883 working. I
installed the drivers 2 or 3 times, cleaned the registry, etc. and finally I
had sound. It wouldn't work after all of that and then what was funny I went
into Control Panel / Audio Devices/Realtek HD Audio Output & Properties
(right click) / Options.... I then upped the quality from 16 bit, CD 44100
Hz to 16 bit,48000 Hz (DVD Quality), clicked Test and had sound. I also went
back to the General tab, clicked Properties and checked "Stereo Mix" and "CD
Player." I hope this might help someone that has had as much trouble getting
sound as I have. I would rather have my M-Audio Audiophile 192 soundcard but
until the drivers are available at least I'll have sound (I hope it keeps
working). Thanks for your help, guys!
