I have a soundblaster 16 which I removed from a comp which ran win 98
to a comp that runs NT. I lost/misplaced the software. How do I
program/install this sound card w/out the software? I just put it in
today.
Thanks...

I'd think about downloading the driver. http://www.creative.com might
be a good place to start though a Google search would find it
elsewhere as well.

Where can I DL drivers on the net for Soundblaster 16 CPI?
They're not available on the Creative site. Thanks..

Well I'll walk you through the process since it will be useful in the
future...

1) Google search "soundblaster 16 NT driver"
http://www.google.com/search?q=soundblaster+16+NT+driver

2) The first search result was "SoundBlaster SoundBlaster 16 PCI
driver - SoundBlaster sound card ... "
with the following link:
http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/33/33393.htm

3) That link takes us to a page with a link titled "SoundBlaster 16
Driver.zip", which when clicked, pops up a username and password box
for driverguide.com... username is "drivers", password is "all".

4) Next scroll down to the "Download this file" link.. it'll take you
to a human-verification code page, where you enter the code pictured.

5) The download begins

The driver appears to actually be for Win2K, so you might need try it
and if it doesn't work, repeat the process but choose a different
Google search result.

One possibility is that you're looking under the wrong name. There
looks to be a slight typo in your posting, as you are correct that
there is no driver there for a Soundblaster 16 CPI.

There is, however, a listing for a Sound Blaster 16 PCI. If you
follow their support page and Select

Sound Blaster > 16bit > Sound Blaster 16 PCI

You mentioned earlier that you were looking for drivers for NT but
didn't specify the version. There's a driver package and a bunch of
update packages for winNT4.0 and win2000. If you're using an older
version of winNT, you may be out of luck.

As you're asking about drivers, I'm guessing you're not using XP,
since XP seems to support all of the Creative cards out of the box
(with the possible exception of the GameBlaster).
