Soundcard problem

I am rebuilding my pc. All appears to work as advertised except for my sound card. I cannot hear any sound when my speakers are plugged into the card itself. However, when i plug my speakers into the earphone jack, i have sound. sound card works in another pc. What am i doing wrong?
 
Did you get XP drivers from the manufacturer?
