I've had to revert to an ISA Soundblaster AWE64 Gold because I ran out
of PCI slots and can't get any sound. Builtin W2K drivers installed.
I've tried everything I can imagine to get it working, manual config
in device manager, setting Bios for ISA use of IRQ7 (tried 5 too) and
DMA1, DMA5. Have double checked memory addresses, no conflicts with
other devices. Just no sound. I've fiddled with this for 2 days now
and no joy. Speakers work, all connections tight and right. I've
researched the W2000 sites, newsgroups, google searches, still no joy.
Does anybody know the right magic to just get basic sound out of the
fool card? I'm about ready to pull out my remaining two hairs!
Thanks in advance.
