Sound?

Hi. I have had my computer working normally for the last little while and suddenly today I turn on my computer and I have no sound. Any ideas as to how to fix this? I've checked the sound levels and everything says it is fine with the exception of PC Speaker, TAD-In and Microphone do not have a little green arrow on the balance line. They seem to be hard coded out. Would this be why my sound is out?

If you have any suggestions, please advise ASAP. It's making me nuts.
