My pc previously ran on Windows 2000. I formatted my
hard drive and installed Windows XP. Now, inspite of
exhaustively going through the fault finders, I don't
have any sound - no system sounds, no music sound, no
music cd sound, NOTHING!!
I have a Genius Soundmaker Live 5.1 Series sound card
installed as well.
On "Sounds and Audio Device Properties" there is an
indication that "Multimedia Audio Controller" is
installed in PCI Slot 1 (PCI Bus 1, device 5, function 0)
This device is not configured correctly (Code 1),
and "PCI Input Device" in PCI Slot 1 (PCI Bus 1, device
5, function 1) This device is not configured correctly
(Code 1). All the other devices are shown as functioning
correctly.
What have I done wrong?
