I was just wondering if it is possible to take the sound froma clip?

Yes, treat the clip as if it's a sound clip in MM2 and it'll work that
way.... use the clip on the audio/music track to use the sound only, or put
it on that track and save the movie as a WMA file to get the sound into a
new file without the video.
