I am a new user and not very au fait with computers. I have inadvertantly
removed my sound system from my computer. I tried to retrieve it from the
recycle bin to no avail. I have a Toshiba Equium A60 laptop which came with
a restore disk and tools and utilities disk. I know that I may have to
reinstore but am afraid that I may remove recent settings. Such as Internet
connection and Cyber phone which has been a problem to obtain anyway as I am
residing in Spain for a few months. Please can anyone help me.

Reinstore? That's a creative term :)

Does device manager show the sound hardware as "working"? Have you tried
checking the Toshiba site for sound drivers that you can download and
install?

Something that I would be likely to do with a new system is accidentally
mute the sound with a keyboard button. May want to check out that angle as
well. Check the laptop's manual for the key or key combination that does
this.

Thanks I will try these options

You're welcome! Glad to hear you have this resolved. No need to apologize
for "reinstore." I kind of liked the term. :)
