I've recently installed WindowsXP Pro and now my sound
does not work. I had purchased my computer with ME on it
and my sound worked fine without me having to configure
anything. I don't see why my sound does not work anymore.

.
Have you updated your sound drivers yet?

OK. I have no clue how to do that. I have looked at some
things that say: "Legacy Audio Drivers" and "Audio
Codecs". I choose properties, and it tells me they are
working properly. They also say unknown manufacturer. I
am very lost. I don't know much about this kind of thing.
How would I check if they are up to date, and if they
aren't, how would I go about updating them.

Hmmm.......
Old OS, sounds work. New OS, sounds stop. I'd say your drivers don't
work and you need new ones for XP. If you don't know who made the
card, you could crack the case and look on the card for the
manufacturer. Not comfy with that? Take it to a real computer shop
(not Best Buy or ShortCircuit City) and ask them to help.

By the way, there are many ways and resources to find out how to fix
this. Google searches of your problem turned up thousands of helpful
results. Try it out.
