Sound when used with PowerPoint Show online

We have prepared some files (PowerPoint 2002 on XP) which we have then saved as PPS files. These all have embedded sound files which are stored in the master directoy. When copied to our Web server, they all seem to link back to the original file location, whereas I thought so long as the whole directory structure was moved and not changed they would play ok

I have now added all sound files direct from the web server and all works fine, but would like to eliminate this in the future - any advice greatly received. We do not like the output when saving PPT for Web, so prefer this route

Dene,

Either your sounds are 'embedded' within the presentation or they are 'linnked'. If they are linked then you'll have
problems.

To embed them have a read of this page, particularly
When is a link not a link and when is it?

Links break when I move presentation (and at other times)

Thanks TA

I have check all the settings on my embed Sound files and found that we are set to 100kb, as we have run PPT straight from the box, and all sound files are well in excess of this!! We used WAVs as we though these were automatically embeded, but missed this point
