Having recently purchased a new HDD and putting on a fresh install of
Windows XP I noticed my latest 3850 512meg (HIS) driver package had a
DVI sound out part to it. How does this work? I didn't think DVI could
take sound. I have DVI to HDMI on my TV but I have a feeling I'll
never get sound through this. It's not a biggie I just wondered if I
could without using an output from my soundcard.

Cheers.

It allowed you to use the DVI to HDMI dongle that came with a video card to
send sound thru the HDMI cable from the video card to your HDMI equipped TV
