sound skips

I have musicmatch and the sound skips every three seconds
or so.I am a new user,(WINDOWS XP HOME)and I'm not sure
if it is installed right or even if I know what I'm doing.

If you're talking about skips while your surfing the web
(with a dial up modem), this is normal unless you have
a "hardware modem" (as opposed to a winmodem). A hardware
modem has a lot of onboard processing which a winmodem
does not. The winmodem uses a lot of processor time (& so
does mediaplayer, a known resource hog) so you get skips

musicmatch was just installed on my 'puter and now some

of my radio stations are intermittent, too. What to do?
