Sound Recording device

When running sound hardware test wizard it states that I
cannot simultaneously play sounds and capture my voice.
The voice recording has never worked well, but it did
work. I've been trying to input voice recordings with
video to record to DVD. Can anyone direct me to some
help?

I think the term used for a sound card that can record and playback sounds
simultaneously is full duplex capable.
You say your sound card has worked like this before so we can assume that
it's full duplex capable and you have a configuration problem.

Run DXDIAG from the Start button's Run prompt.
Look at the Sound tab.
Is Hardware Acceleration set to Full?
Are any errors reported on the DirectX Files tab?

If all looks ok with dxdiag then i'd suggest reinstalling your sound card's
drivers.
