Sound Recorder

Does any one know how to get the sound recorder to work?
I plugged in a mic but can not reccord.

have you checked the select box in recording control??
Right click on the speaker icon in systray, select record

Hy

- First check again your connection of the microphone! Find the symbol on
the connector.
- Under Control/Sound you will find the Option to set the recording stuff.
Check this.

I'm having the same problem. Have switched recently to win XP and whilst I
used to find sound recorder under accessories-communications I dont anymore.

Please help. To make matters worse I have italian version of xp and have
very limited knowledge of the language, so do please be EXTRA specific. by
Control/sound, I assume you mean under control panel, sound system? tried
that - it went thru a hardware check and came out ok but still is not
recording.

Systray is the Incorrect term for the Notification Area on the end of
the Taskbar that contains the "time" and other Icons for notifing the
user of programs operating in the background

If it does not appear under Accessories-Entertainment (NOT communications!)

Plug the following into the "Run" box and hit enter.

sndrec32.exe

If it runs, make a Shortcut to it.
