sound recorder and wordpad

on ms sound recorder i open it up i have a micraphone and
when i click record the slider thing goes along so you
know its recording or playing but when i stop and play
agian nothing is playing.

on wordpad i try to open up a .DOC file and wordpad loads
up and comes up with a message saying " c:\program Cannot
find this file. please verify that the correct path and
file name are given." but if i load up wordpad and click
file and open then the file works and i can read the
document. help needed how do i solve it.

In sound recorder under Edit,and Audio Properties, check
to see what your sound playback device is and your sound
recording device. You may also want to check if your
microphone is working, maybe you need a new one. Make sure
the microphone is plugged into the correct jack on the
