sound problem

Am running XP. When I play music cd's sound is fine.When
I put in a game to play I recieve a message sying game
can't access sound card.Any Ideas?
 
What kind of card and what kind of machine are we talking about here? Try
updating the driver and/or firmware for the card and see what happens.
