My sound gets interrupted every time i open something while listening to
music.it gets repeated, scratchy and disorted.this happens in all different
speakers i have tried.my drivers are up to date.this happens often.pls help

I have the exact same problem, whenever I'm listening to music or watching a
video file (in the rare occasion that I decide to open something while doing
so) in any media program I use (from WMP, to Winamp, to Real Player, to Quick
Time [through a browser or not], and etc.). If I open a file that takes any
slight ammount of loading time, start a program, or even visit a webpage with
slightly above average loading time, the playback gets sketchy, and it ranges
in severity depending on the secondary task (a text file opening in Notepad
may make a small skitch or two, opening Microsoft Word might warrant 10
straight seconds of scratchy static). Also, if I were to open something while
the music / video is playing, and leave it open, sometimes the playback will
distort between evenly paced intervals of time. This has really perplexed me,
as I've never experienced something as such before.

The system I'm using has Windows XP (as I would suppose is obvious; sorry,
I'm a bit new to this), 15.9 GB of 70.8 GB of hard drive space being used,
and 512 MB of RAM. I hope this helps the both of us.
