The sound on my Father in Laws computer just left for the most part. Music
CDs still work, but windows and game sounds are gone. He's using Win 98. I
removed and replaced the card hoping that Windows would reinstall it or
something, but it still doesn't work. Device Manager says it is ok. The
fact that music CDs work says the card is ok, I guess, but how do I get the
other sounds back?

The computer is about 4 years old, CTX brand. In device manager the sound
card is listed as ES1869 control interface WDM.

Thanks,

Jack

Go to the audio mixer and check that the potmeters are at the right level
and that no channel you want to use is disabled.

How do I get to the audio mixer?

Thanks
