After recently updating Windows 2000 Pro with SP4 (I
believe - or whatever the last big update was) my
soundcard stopped functioning. I've done the
troubleshooting - all codecs appear to be installed, no
hardware conflicts, all devices enabled. The cd player
located in the accessory menu (the basic Windows player)
is the only thing that plays sound. Windows Media Player
won't even work. I can't play any files other than cd
(no .wav, .ram, etc.) and the WIN system sounds don't play
either. All worked fine until the last WIN update. Any
suggestions?
