hello,

I've installed vista but after that the sound on my laptop idn't work
anymore. It's a high definition audio device from microsoft. How can I fix
this problem?

What is the name and model number of your laptop? In Device Manager,
double-click your sound device, and on the Details tab, look for the
Hardware ID's property. Copy and post the values, e.g.

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0260&SUBSYS_02600000&REV_1003
and
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0260&SUBSYS_02600000.

I have Acer 5050 and I have the same prolem (I think) My sound is very quiet
and I can not make it louder. I tried everything. Can you help?

ive just upgraded from basic to premium and have the same problem its saying
it has not installed audio so how can i get audio installation

You will have to find out who made your audio adapter and download and install
Vista drivers?

Do you know the manufacturer of your audio adapter (Microsoft does not
manufacture audio adapter -- what the OP saw was a generic Microsoft HD Audio
driver).

output... i have a gateway mx6422 notebook... yah so can anyone help me out??
