sound notification not working on WLM

I like being notified that I have mail, just in case i'm working on something
else at the moment. So I checked the box that allows you to have a sound
notification if you receive new mail, but for some reason, there is no sound
when I receive new mail. Is there something wrong with my computer, or is it
a glitch in the program? Please help..

Have you gone to Control Panel > Sounds, and on the Sounds tab, scrolled down to
see if a New Mail Notification sound is selected. Also, the default sound here
is very low so I chose a different sound.
 
I just changed the sound and it still won't play when I receive new mail. I
do however see the little yellow envelope on my taskbar stating I have new
mail, but I would like to hear something too.
 
Did you click the Apply button immediately after you selected the new sound.
When you change sound events in Vista you MUST press the Apply button after EACH
and EVERY change or they will not be remembered or applied.
 
Yes, I definitely clicked apply.

It seems to be a WLM bug. Email notification sound works
for me in WM but not in WLM.

Thanks for reporting everyone! We know about the new mail notification
sound not working and are looking into it for a future release.
