All of a sudden, my sound is "jerky". Works fine when I play an MP3 file.
I've been making DVD movies and perhaps some setting got changed. I don't
remember.

Any thoughts on how to restore the sound? I have Creative Sound Blaster
Live!

Thanks

Have you checked the Creative web site to make sure you have the latest
drivers for your card: www.creative.com.

Anything else you might have installed lately after which this problem
began?

I've come to the conclusion it is my physical drive that is broken. I have
a CD/DVD-R drive, and things play fine on that one. I also reinstalled the
Creatvie drivers - to no avail. So I will purchase a new CD-R/RW drive.

I don't know why it broke all of a sudden. When I finished making a DVD
movie from old camcorder tapes, it did not play on the "broken" drive. Some
funny sounds occurred. I thought it might be the complex nature of the
movie. But the movie played OK on the DVD-R burner drive.

Thanks

Are you sure both drives are connected to the soundcard?

No. The DVD-R drive is an external USB 2.0 drive. The broken CD-RW/DVD-ROM
drive is internal and came with the system.

Why?

Many soundcards can only accommodate audio connections from one drive. Many
Creative cards can accommodate two. If both drives were internal, that
would be something to check be since only one is internal it does not apply
in this situation.
