sound issue - crackling noise

occasionally, when i turn on my computer, i get a crackling scratchy noise. other times, i turn it on and my sound is just fine. it is as if something connects wrong when i turn on the computer to cause the noise. any help would be really appreciated. thanks.

I am having the exact same problem. I have been using
winamp and sometimes I will stop and start to do the
crackling. The only way to remedy this is if I change
the song....it seems even if I do this, it starts
happening even more often. Also there are sometimes when
I can do nothing but restart my computer to fix it.
