when listening to new music in windows media player or
listening to music that I have allready downloaded into
windows media player the sound is horrible it is very
distorted, like you are standing in a tunnel, and very
hollow sounding. My voice narrator is the same way. It
used to work just fine, please send any suggestions I
would really like to use this part of my computer again.
I have gone into my control panel and done all the
trouble shooting questions and know matter what I do I
still get the same sound. Please help....Thanks

I'm noticing a similar problem, but for me it's with any
media player. Sound sounds like it is occluded (coming
from behind a wall or some other obstacle). It is
distinctly lacking in clarity. Playing with different
speaker configs in "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties ->
Advanced" yields different levels of occlusion/
"enhancement". It sounds almost like an
equalizer/spatializer is in use, without the user knowing
it. I have yet to find a configuration that is agreeable,
but for me "Surround sound speakers" seems to be the config
that is least irritating.
