One day, when I got on my computer I found that the
volume control, sound icon was no longer in my system
tray. I think my son deleted it somehow. When I tried
to put it up from the windows directory, I got the
shortcut and it asked me if I wanted it on the system
tray. I clicked yes, and it won't let me, says the
program does not exist. Is there a download for that
little program that I can find. Or where it might be in
microsoft?

Its not in your c:\windows directory, its in c:\windows\system32. If its not
there then you need to put it there !

Put your XP XD in drive then, Start > Run > type Msconfig > OK > Expand file
browse for sndvol32.exe and extract it to the following :
c:\windows\system32.

Go to c:\windows\system32 and double click on sndvol32.exe. You should then
find the loudspeaker icone in the systray. If not create a shortcut etc. or
Start > Control Panel > Sound & Audio Devices > make sure the little box is
ticked to put the icone in the systray.

Cheers,
Jerry
