Im having a bit of problem with the sound on my machine, I've got a AMD
1.1Ghz, 512MB of RAM with XP. I use a Philips Surround Sound 5 speaker +
woofer system, on a CMI 8738 soundcard.
When I use Windows Media player to play music, its perfect, the bass and
everything is great. However when I attempt to use ANY other audio app (so
far I've tried Real player, NERO, Sonique & Winamp) the sound is really
different, there is NO bass whatsoever, it seems like the app is not using
the woofer at all. I have checked all the settings in Control Panel ->
Sound & Audio devices and also updated my soundcard drivers, but I cannot
understand why this is happening!
(When I try the other apps, there equalizer settings are all set to
default)
