Sound files in slide shows

I've been using PowerPoint for a while, and have inserted sound files successfully into PowerPoint. But now, I seem to have forgotten how to do a basic thing. When inserting a sound file, PowerPoint will display a speaker icon to show the sound file. But I used to be able to hide the icon so it wouldn't show up during the slideshow. It would be much appreciated if someone could remind me how to do this basic thing. Thanks!

You can't hide it, but if you set it to play
automatically so you don't have to click on it, then you
can drag it off the slide so it won't show in the
presentation.

Try right clicking on the speaker. It should bring up a window, giving you the option to hide the speaker, or make it invisible.
