If you create a 2003 presentation and want to play it on another computer,
do you need to keep the audio files in a folder with the presentation? I
know with video files that happens but is audio the same? What steps should
be taken to make sure a program or show you want to play on another computer
will work?

Thank you

Jerry

Unless your sound files are WAV files, they are always linked. If they are
WAV files, they are linked if the file size is larger than the size you
specify under Tools --> Options.

To make sure that your presentation works on another computer, place the
files in the same folder as the presentation, then make the links to it. Use
Package to CD to create a copy of the whole folder and move that to another
machine. Test that the presentation works.

Yes, in theory you can use Package to CD to create a CD that contains all
your linked files, no matter where they are. That said, I feel it is safer
to put the files together in the same folder before linking and using
Package to CD.

You can't guarantee that what you create will run on the other machines. The
other machine may not even have a sound card or speakers. However, if you
create the links to files in the same directory and send both the
presentation and the sound files, things should work.

Does that make sense?
